| and so, it is now 2 months into summer, and i still have another 2 months to go. ahhhh i adore the 4 month summer that going to university allows. i have finished first year, gone travelling to the other side of the world, bummed around for a month, and now looking for a job so as i don't completely waste what is left of my summer. and also to refill le bank account. funny how fast first year went. and i really can't believe that it was only this time last year that i was enjoying the sun in Vaison la Romaine, France. it seems that every time i go somewhere, its like a different life. since the end of grade 12, i have been on a plane more times than i have in my entire life put together. let me count the times. ~ to Toronto, to Paris, back to Toronto, back to Calgary one week later, ~ to Toronto, to Montreal, back to Toronto 4 months later, ~ to Calgary, back to Toronto another 4 months later, ~ to Calgary 15 hours later, ~ to Hong Kong ~ to Xian, back to HK, to Guilin, back to HK ~ back to Calgary In total, that is 16 plane rides in 1 year. O_o'' I have most definetly travelled more than I ever have in my entire life, and I count myself fully blessed to have had so many opportunities to go to so many different places in such a short span of time. I barely even remember grade 12 now, even though it was only a year ago. It seems as if i have lived 4 new lives ever since then, each life complete with adventures, new experiences, more insight into the world in which i live. one in france, one in montreal, one in guelph, and one in hk. from this year alone, i am resolved to travel the world, see as much as i can while i am here, because like my mom said while sailing down a river in Guilin, "God makes everything equal. Each place in the world has their own special type of beauty, something only that particular place has, and so no part of the world can claim to be better than another, because there is something amazing of God's creation in each and every place." And who wouldn't want to see as much of that as possible? |
